The idea for the website started when I saw our Lotto Syndicate administrator busily trying to keep track of who paid what, keeping spreadsheets on what each person’s share of winnings was and continually sending emails to remind people their balances were getting low. In the meantime I had no idea if she was actually buying tickets because we didn’t seem to be winning much!
As a website developer, I saw an opportunity to create a tool to make managing a Syndicate easier for administrators and also to make it more transparent for administrators and members of the Syndicate.
The result was lottosyndicate.nz. I created the website firstly to make it easier for my own administrator, but hoped that it would prove useful for others too.
Since we started in January 2018 many others have jumped on board and I now find myself continually working on improvements.
